Stay tuned for events coming up later this year.
Kannagara Woods BioBlitz* and Plant Swap
Sept. 16, 2018 from noon to 8pm
On Sunday, September 16, 2018 we partnered with our good friends at Green Triangle to host a BioBlitz of the sanctuary. A group of about 20 people, from professional naturalists to enthusiastic amateurs, got together and spent the day identifying and cataloging 98 species of plants, animals and insects living in the sanctuary.
(For lists of all the species identified, click here.)
We'll be following up with another BioBlitz in Spring 2019. If you'd like us to keep you up-to-date on this or any of our future events, join our mailing list (below) and we'll let you know whenever we add something to our schedule.
* A BioBlitz is a one-day survey of an area during which the participants try to record all the different species of plants and animals they encounter. It's a great way to experience the often unnoticed biodiversity of a place. It's also a whole lot of fun!
